Yefim began his studies at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego and completed his Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1991 at the San Francisco College of Acupuncture. He began his studies with Dr. Wang Ju-yi in 1998 and began a more intensive study at Dr. Wang's Beijing clinic in 2003. From 2003-2009, he organized annual clinical internship and lectures with Dr. Wang for TCM students from the USA. In 2013, Yefim spent a year studying with Dr. Wang in his Beijing clinic. In August 2013, he was recognized by the Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing Acupuncture and Moxibustion Association and Wang Ju-yi as an apprentice and official instructor of Applied Channel Theory.
Yefim has maintained a private practice since 1992, specializing in pain management, sports injuries, HIV/AIDS. In addition to his clinical work, he has been teaching Chinese Medicine since 1997. Long-term faculty appointments include the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (San Francisco, CA), chair of the Acupuncture Department at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (New York, NY) and full-time faculty member at the Daoist Traditions College (Asheville, NC). He is currently a faculty member at the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine and maintains a private practice in Port Townsend, WA, USA. Yefim also teaches Applied Channel Theory courses in the USA and internationally.
